Casteddu

Casteddu is the Sardinian word for Cagliari, the capital of the Mediterranean island of Sardinia. Here, halfway between Africa and Europa, the International Medical Literature Service Amedeo was born in 1997. 10 years later, in October 2007, Amedeo created the Amedeo Prize (click on the pictures to enlarge them).

Casteddu (see location) is one of the few cities around the world which have continuously been inhabited since the end of the Bronze Age. Rome, Paris, Berlin and Madrid are all younger. Already 3,000 years ago, people were busy in this area. Open the streets below your feet and you will find the foundations of ancient civilisations.

Casteddu is a young and dynamic city and its inhabitants are outstandingly friendly. Food and wine are excellent. Deep Blue is the essence of the Casteddu sky and the sorrounding sea is one of the best in the Mediterranean. If you stay in Sardinia in May, don't miss the Sant'Efisio festivities. Finally, the view of the Marina district will be the highlight of your visit to Casteddu.

The new Casteddu Internation Airport puts the capital of Sardinia at reach of a huge number of fascinating destinations: Algeria - Auvergne - Australia - Barbagia - Barcelona - Beyenburg - Bonifacio - Borkum - Brittany - Carloforte - Damascus - Dordogne - Dubai - Freiburg - Lisbon - Madrid - Mexico - Normandy - Paris - Paris 2 - Provence - Sevilla
